Colin Sahlman, a senior at Newbury Park High in California, won the Rob Brenner boys championship race at the 42nd ASICS Clovis Cross Country Invitational, covering the 5-kilometer layout in 14:29.4 at Woodward Park in Fresno. Sahlman, who elevated to the No. 3 competitor in course history, led a Newbury Park sweep of the top four spots and a 19-point performance, lowering the Panthers' own all-time team time record from 75:26.7 to 73:36.6.
